Meerkat (Suricata suricatta)
Meerkats are located in the harsh climate of the Kalahari Desert in Southern Africa. They dine on mostly insects, but will also eat lizards, small rodents and scorpions. Surprisingly Meerkats aren't affected by the venom of scorpions.

The Lappet Faced Vulture lives in Northern, eastern, and Southern Africa. It is a scavenger so it eats mostly carcasses of dead animals. It's adaptation is a large skin flap on its head to cool it from the heat of the desert.

The Sonoran Desert Toad lives in the Southwestern United States. It eats insects, spiders, and mice. It's adaptation is to burrow underground to beat the desert heat.
The Great Roadrunner lives in the Southeastern United States. It eats insects, lizards, spiders, snakes, fruits, seeds, and sometimes rodents.
The Caracal is located in Africa and some parts of India. It consumes birds, rodents, antelope and Gazelle. It's adaptation is its fur color to blend in with the desert.
The Sidewinder Rattlesnake lives in Arizona, Nevada, California, and Southern Utah. It dines on small rodents and lizards. it's adaptation is the way it moves in the sand to distract prey.
